What is the IMF Virtual Run?
The IMF Virtual Run is a fun running and walking event that can be done anywhere, at any time across any distance throughout November. The IMF Virtual Run coincides with the Indigenous Marathon Project 2024 Squad’s participation in the TCS New York City Marathon.
You will have 30 days to complete your challenge. Complete your goal distance in as many activities as you like during November.

What distances should I register for?
This virtual challenge suits every fitness level. You choose the distance you want to run or walk, and then complete it in one go or cumulatively during November. If you can, try for a Marathon distance of 42.2km over the month of November.
What's included in my entry fee?
Your entry fee includes your entry, your medal and postage. You can also purchase a limited edition 2024 Virtual Run T-Shirt or Singlet and add it to your registration.
How do I track my activities?
Logging your November virtual run activities is optional. Everyone registered will receive a finisher's medal.
If you would like to track and log your IMF Virtual Run activities and have kilometres automatically added to your virtual challenge you will need setup a free Runkeeper account. Your activities can also be manually uploaded to Race Roster.

What is Runkeeper and how does it work?
Runkeeper is an app (with a free and paid subscription) that integrates with Race Roster. If you use RunKeeper to record your runs/walks it will automatically upload your activities for the virtual challenge. The free version of RunKeeper can be used for the IMF Virtual Run.
After creating your Runkeeper account you can link partner apps such as Garmin which will enable your activities to automatically sync to Runkeeper.

How do I connect Runkeeper to Race Roster?
Your Race Roster account is created when you register for the IMF Virtual Run. From your Race Roster dashboard:
- click on 'View registration'
- scroll down to your virtual challenge entry and click on the button '+ Add activity'
- click on the button 'Connect with the Runkeeper app'
- sign in to Runkeeper and 'Allow' access and tick all 3 boxes for activities that can be imported
- if in step 4 you were not prompted to select privacy options go back to the Race Roster dashboard > view your registration > add activity > manage privacy settings > tick all 3 boxes for activities to be imported.

Can I add activities manually without Runkeeper?
Yes! Your activities (kilometres) can be uploaded from your personal dashboard in Race Roster.
- navigate to your Race Roster dashboard
- click on 'View registration'
- click on the Green '+ Add activity' button
- add your activity data - date, time, distance
- tick Terms and Privacy
- submit the activity
How do I view my team's and team members progress?
The IMF Virtual Run will have leaderboards for distance (individual and teams). This is done on the Results page.
This can be reached by two ways:
1. Click on “View Results” in the left column of this event page
2. Click the “Leaderboard” link on your personal dashboard
Once you are on the results page, select “All Teams” or “All Participants”, then in the search box type your team’s name and click the spyglass icon.
Note: Team results totals will be updated each day at around 2:00pm.
What if I can't complete the whole distance?
No problems! Getting outdoors and having fun is the goal. You will still receive a finishers medal.
Where do I find my race bib?
What should I tag on social media?
Make sure you're following the Indigenous Marathon Foundation on Facebook and Instagram and tag us in your posts by using the #IMFVirtualRun hashtag.
When will I receive my medal?
All medals will be posted to registered participants after the completion of the event. We aim to have all medals posted by the end of November.
What does my entry fee and/or donation go towards?
Apart from covering the costs associated with the IMF Virtual Run, your entry fee and/or donation will go towards providing support to the core programs of Rob de Castella’s Indigenous Marathon Foundation across the country. The Foundation relies of the generosity of the public to facilitate many of our life-changing programs. Your support is hugely appreciated.
I want to fundraise for the IMF. Where do I start?
You can nominate a fundraising amount during the registration process. A Race Roster fundraising page will be automatically set-up which can also be edited at any time. You can share your fundraising page with family, friends and colleagues on socials and ask them to donate to your page via the link from your page.
Fundraising is not mandatory for this event. If you prefer not to, leave the fundraising field at $0.

Donations over $2 are 100% tax deductible.
There will also be a fundraising leaderboard on the event page to acknowledge all fundraisers.
